Solar Site Enablement
Project Management
Site enabling works aim to prepare land for solar panel installation, ensuring the long-term health and stability of the site. Works include site preparation, vegetation management, installation of access and security infrastructure. The goal is to create a suitable and sustainable environment for the solar farm's operation while minimizing environmental impact.
Typical Enabling Works:
- Ground works / civils
- Landscaping
- Land leveling & re-seed
- Hedge cutting, clearing and chipping
- Site fencing / screening
- Site access & security infrastructure

- Solar farm design review and clarification
- Local contractor identification and procurement

Solar Site
Ground Maintenance
Ground maintenance on Solar Farms is required to ensure sites are kept up to spec. Ensuring electrical equipment does not become overgrown and panels are not affected by shading.

- General site maintenance (fence repair, access paths, entrance gates)
- Grass cutting & weed control (Below 0.5m)
- Hedge cutting (material below height designated as per site design)
- Landscaping (Tree, Hedge, Wildflower planting)
- Natural grass and weed control
- Site Supervision Reporting

SolarServa personnel visit sites under maintenance contract on a bi-monthly basis. Incidents detected are reported directly. Monthly status reports assist operators in their compliance reporting.
Solar Panel Cleaning
​Solar panels need periodic cleaning to remove dust, bird dirt, moss, lichen etc. The accumulation of such contaminants leads to a drop in the efficiency of PV panels. The efficiency loss due to soiling is estimated to be 2-5% annually worldwide and represents losses of over €4bn annually.

SolarServa Services include:
- Wet and Dry PV panel cleaning on commercial solar farms using tractor mounted cleaning equipment
- Large rooftop solar installation cleaning using autonomous cleaning equipment
- Damage reporting of damage/issues detected

Notes:
1.Use of chemical cleaning agents to be inline with PV Manufacturers warranty
2.Use of appropriate PPE (Hi-vis, electrical gloves and boots, harness and anhcor, etc)
3.Health & Safety Risk Assessment required on all sites

John Kilmartin
​A certified Project Manager (PMP) with 20+ years’ experience in IT Consulting, Investment Promotion. With a background in farming (sheep, dairy) and agri-contracting. Education - Law (Degree), Managerial Accounting and Information Technology (Masters) and Project Management (PMI).
ISCA Certified​
SolarServa operations staff are trained and certified undergoing the ISCA Certified Solar Panel Cleaner (CSPC) Course – UK Edition.
